Beginners Guide to Microfishing: Floats
Floating On
Tanago floats are tiny, lightweight bobbers made from balsa, cedar, or styrofoam that serve to position your bait at the desired depth. Most have a bright tip or a shiny band so you can still see them without spooking the fish. They are attached to the line through the use of a small piece of tube that holds the float parallel to the line.
Their functionality is straightforward and requires little explanation, but they also serve as way for a tanago angler to personalize their tackle. They can come in many shapes, though the classic teardrop silhouette remains the favorite, and even more colors. They’re available in a range of sizes, depending on what lure you’re throwing, but most are around 3cm inlength with half of that being the stem.
